Lake Bohinj and Triglav National Park

On this tour we will discover the mountain lakes of northern Slovenia that are well worth seeing. Experienced bikers are sure to enjoy the twists and turns to the Loibl Pass and some classic cream cake at the shores of Lake Bohinj.

We meet in front of the tourist office in Faak am See and then cross the Rosental, past the small villages along the Drau. At the level of the small town of Ferlach, we turn towards the Loibl Pass and after a few bends we reach Slovenia. We enjoy the forests and fields behind the Karawanks and make our way to Bled and Lake Bled. Amidst this dreamlike scenery of the mountain lake we enjoy a coffee with a view of the island and the castle of Bled.

The next stop is Lake Bohinj, a crystal-clear mountain lake in the Triglav National Park. We reach it via Bohinjska Bistrica, through the valley. We stop at this lake and take a break under one of the cliffs. A well-deserved lunch is waiting not far away with regional delicacies and the famous cream cake.

Well strengthened, we make our way back to Lake Faak. Over less frequented roads, a plateau west of Lake Bled and past Pokljuka, we reach Kranjska Gora before we meet the main road again. Over the Wurzen Pass we return to Austria and a short time later to our starting point.
